Many usually express wonder on why I am actually doing music yet I am an academic. My answer is summarised in the song. I am doing it for the love of Kalanga culture. If we don't do it ourselves, either no one will do it or someone will do it for you destroying or distorting your culture in the process".
Tish is a town planner by profession but do appear in a number of other activities like newspaper correspondence, fiction writing, music etc. Tish has a Ndebele novel entitled Igazi Labafo published two years ago. "I am not a bambazonke kind of person but I thrive towards fulfilling my dreams, being a jack of many trades and being able to be master of them too.
While they release Culture Lover, other tracks from their album Township Makokoba like Bukalanga and Ndombolo are doing well in radio stations like the Victoria Falls based commercial radio station Breeze FM. Bukalanga featuring Dj Dash was voted the trending video of the month while Ndombolo, while the track Ndombolo is also doing well there.
"The track Kalanga Culture Lover is the closest thing to defining our Kalanga house genre. The fusion of modernism and traditionalism is clear in the song." Tish says he is aware of the popularity of Sinazo music in places like Botswana but laments the lack of good genuine promoters for the shows there. "Most of the Botswana promoters who have approached us so far have been offering unacceptable contracts. We are still waiting for a good promotion then we are in for a good show", Mr Malaba confirmed.
Sinazo music is easy to get as it is available in all major online stores including Amazon, Googleplay, Itunes and others.
