THE 70-year-old dad was arrested for allegedly repeatedly raping his daughters aged nine and 12, and the girls were taken to a place of safety.
Much to the surprise of many the man was soon released . . . and the girls were given back to him after they were moved from one foster home to another.
Daily Sun reported that now he is continuing where he left off, and neither social workers nor cops are doing anything to help!
The girls from Mpumalanga said their father began abusing them three years ago, shortly after their mother returned to Mozambique.
"We were born in Mozambique. Six years ago our father brought us and our mum to live with him in Mzansi," said the 12-year-old. "We were happy as we were finally a complete family but then our mum moved back to Mozambique, leaving us behind. That was when our father began raping us."
The 12-year-old girl was nine and in grade 2 at the time, while her sister was only six years old.
Unable to bear the horror anymore, the girls told a teacher early last year, who contacted social workers.
The father was arrested.
"Social workers moved us to live with one family after the next," the older girl said. "We lived with at least five families in six months. Then in September we were taken back to our father, who had been released."
The girls claimed the man would brag that he would never be arrested and that they were stuck with him.
He allegedly also told the girls that no one loved them, and that everyone would abandon them just like their mother had.
"He is right because everyone in this village knows what he is doing to us, but no one is doing anything to help us," she sobbed. "Social workers promised to keep him away from us, but we are back at his house and he continues to abuse us."
Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi said the facts around the matter could not be established, as the case number had not been provided.
Social development spokesman Ronnie Masilela said they would immediately look into the case.
