Twenty-three primary schools, led by Kwekwe-based private school, Camelot Primary, attained an incredible 100 percent pass rate in the November 2013, Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec) examinations.

According to Zimsec statistics, the rest of the schools completing the Top 100 table scored a percentage pass rate of over 90 percent, culminating in a marginally improved Grade 7 national pass rate of 32,2 percent from the 31,5 percent recorded in 2012.

The pass rate in 2011 was 28,9 percent.

The majority of the top-ranked learning institutions were private schools.

Oscar Chivaura, the headmaster of Camelot Primary School, told the Daily News yesterday that stakeholders at the school Grade 7 top 100 schools were enjoying their place in the sun.

"Everyone here, from the teaching and non-teaching staff as well as parents, are naturally elated with our results," Chivaura said.

"We attribute the success to them all, particularly the teaching staff, and we also commend the support we get from parents."
