The Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr Yoshinobu Hiraishi, has today officially handed over the school buildings to Molo Primary School which had been established in Bubi District, Matabeleland North Province.

The construction of the school buildings was made possible by a grant of USD 112,039 (one hundred and twelve thousand and thirty-nine dollars) which the Embassy extended to World Vision Zimbabwe in March last year for the implementation of "The Project for Construction of a Primary School in Bubi District."

The grant was used for the construction and furnishing of four standard double classroom blocks as well the construction of ten multi-compartment Blair Latrine toilet block and a staff toilet. The local community assisted in the provision of labour, bricks, sand and stone.  Through this project, it is expected that 288 pupils and 8 teachers who had previously suffered from the coarse learning environment in three makeshift pole and dagga classroom blocks will benefit.

Speaking at the occasion H.E. Mr Hiraishi expressed the hope that the improved learning environment will result in greatly improved examination results. He also commended parents in the local community for their ownership and invaluable contribution to this project.
