Harare Central Hospital has indefinitely suspended all surgeries citing critical shortages of drugs, Bulawayo24.com reveals.
A memorandum dated September 16 from a Dr H.N Chifamba (HOD Anesthetics) to top hospital officials states that the hospital will now "concentrate on maternity , CEPOD Emergenices and ICU".
Chifamba said the break will give them an opportunity to train nurses "on the use of morphine and tramadol injection for post operative pain".
