Woman forgets adult toy in v*gina - for 10 YEARS

A Scottish woman nearly died from walking around with an 11cm long adult toy inside her for the last decade.
The Daily Mail reports that a adult toy was found inside a 38 year-old woman who went to hospital complaining of weight-loss, shaking and lethargy. Doctors found the adult toy which had given the woman an abnormal tract that allowed urine to leak into her vagina. She also had urine backing up in her kidneys.
Thankfully they were able to repair the damage.
But is it even possible to have an object lodged in your vagina for such a long time - without either you or your partner noticing?
The woman did say that she and her partner were both drunk when she used it. Still, sitting down, walking around, having sex, etc. Must be rather uncomfortable, don't you think?
Who knows? The Mail does mention that patients are often too shy to tell doctors the truth as they feel embarrassment or fear.
When it happens to you
If anything gets stuck in your vagina, the first thing to do is to relax. The vagina is not a never ending tunnel. Babies may come out of it, but it doesn't work the other way around. Nothing large will end up in your womb.
If you gently sweep the area with your fingers, making sure you feel around the cervix, you shall probably find it. It is even easier if you have a partner helping you. This will work nine out of ten times when it concerns "lost" tampons, condoms, and other objects that might have found their way in there.
If you have trouble removing the object, or if it is large, or causes you pain, go to your GP or gynae immediately. It's nothing to be embarrassed about - I promise you, they've seen it all before.
Objects that are left in the vagina can cause anything from bad smelling odours and discharge to more serious symptoms such as backed up kidneys and infection.
