The search for the nominees for the South African edition of the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards is underway with nominations opening across the board.

The South African version of the awardsnow in its third year, aims to celebrate individuals and organisationsacross a diverse spectrum of industries, including business, sport, the arts and community initiatives.

ZAA Chairman Conrad Mwanza said that he was feeling positive and looking forward to the third awards ceremony in South Africa.

"Having held another successful event in the UK in May and recently launching the ZAA's in the US, the brand is going from strength to strength, and the SA edition is yet another chapter to look forward to," Mwanza said.

"Through identifying those who demonstrate the very best in business, community work and the arts, it is an honour to put on an awards event every year that highlights the positive work Zimbabweans are doing in South Africa," added Mwanza.

The public will have until the end of September to nominate those individuals and

organisations they feel have made outstanding contributions throughout the past year in their various endeavours. Thereafter, the nominations will be collated and verified by a panel of experts who will emerge with a shortlist before voting begins.

The nominee announcement is scheduled to take place in October with a date and venue to be announced in due course.

The awards organisers have encouraged the public to support the campaign and nominate all those who are shining bright and contributing immensely to the growth and establishment of the Rainbow nation.

"There are so many talented and industrious Zimbabweans who are inspiring, shaping and building strong communities within South Africa, and who are also empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and sports personalities to chase after their dreams.

"Every year we set out on a journey to recognise, honour and celebrate all those making a positive impact, and every year we are amazed by the brilliant work all these individuals and organisations are doing and, we cannot wait to see what this year has in store.

Since its inception in 2014, the awards have gone on to be a highlight on the South African community calendar and have become a respected awards ceremony that celebrates diversity and multiculturalism, and provides a platform that identifies Zimbabweans who have followed their dreams and achieved success.
