Man attempts to rape teen girl in public

A man of no fixed abode is in trouble for trying to rape a 16 year old girl in public at a shop in the city of Bulawayo.

Nsele Ndebele (42) was not asked to plead to the charge of attempted rape when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa. The magistrate remanded the matter to November 29.

The court was told that on March 5 at 1:45pm, the girl was at shop number 30 second floor Haddon and Sly building which is at corner Fife Street and 8 th Avenue Bulawayo with her sister where they wanted to buy a bowl. The two then waited for the shop owner who had gone out of shop.

Ndebele entered the shop and started asking about the prices of the goods from the complainant. He then touched the girl's sister's on the hand and the girl pushed him away.

Ndebele pushed the girl to the ground before getting on top of her at the same time removing his trousers to knee level trying to rape her trying to kiss her as well. The girl screamed before being rescued by some men who got into the shop. They apprehended him before handing him over to the police.
