Woman scalds husband's girlfriend with boiling cooking oil

A woman from Mzilikazi in Bulawayo has been slapped with 210 hours of community service after he scalded her rival suitor with boiling cooking oil on the face after she found her in bed with her husband.

Pamela Dube (22) pleaded guilty to the charge of assault when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove.

The magistrate convicted and sentenced her to 12 months in jail. Six months were suspended for five years on condition of good behavior.

The remaining 6 months were suspended on condition she performed 210 hours of community service.

The court was told that on June 20 this year at 3am Dube who currently resides at Mzilikazi went to number 58 Grafton House in the city where her husband was and found her sleeping on the same bed with Feluna Mahlobo (37). 

She briefly went away and came back with boiling cooking oil which she used to scald Mahlobo with.

Mahlobo sustained severe burns on the face and neck. A report made to the police led to Dube's arrest.
