Kombi driver threatens another with murder, escapes jail

A Kombi driver employed by Bupta taxis was lucky to escape jail after he was acquitted for threatening another Kombi driver with murder.
Nkululeko Khumalo (38) pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nyaradzo Ringisai. The magistrate found him not guilty and acquitted him.
He was alleged to have threatened Samson Hlatshwayo on May 10 this year in a dispute over passengers. It is alleged that when the complainant loaded the passengers in his Kombi, the accused threatened them if they got into the complainant's kombi.
A misunderstanding ensued and he went on to threaten him with murder.
A report made to the police led to his arrest.
