THE leader of the opposition Nationalist Alliance Party (NAP) which is a member of the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) Devine Muhambi Hove has been accused by Lungile Dube who claims to be his wife of dumping her and her child before wedding another woman whom he is allegedly preparing top elope with to the United Kingdom.
Dube who has since started filing court papers to demand maintenance from Muhambi said they have been living together for quite some time and at some point Muhambi would disappear from their home and come after some days without telling her where he was.
"This person (Muhambi) went to wed engitshiya endlini lomntwana!! He sold polad car for $25 000 thats the money they used for wedding and the lady to go to Uk!! He has basement plaza mall that l contributed a lot to it but I am not getting anything now he sold the small car to her cousin," Dube said.
"He had a private wedding with this lady so that he follows the lady its painful what he did as a president. I am demanding upkeep for the baby. There are shops by the mall so l should get some shares. There are 90 shops in that mall. I want maintenance of at least US$600 to $800 per month for the baby!! The shops are $120 each and they are 90 of them so that's the least he can do. I Just want shares for my efforts only."
Dube said efforts to serve Muhambi were being fruitless as she only hears that he is in Harare and has not been able to locate him.
In the August 23 elections, Muhambi failed to participate after complaining over the high Zimbabwe Electoral Commission fees.
According to the SI 144, a presidential candidate must pay US$20,000, up from US$1,000, while a member of parliament (MP) candidate pays US$1,000 from US$50, and a proportional representation candidate has to fork out US$200 from US$100.
