THE four Ihlathi High school teachers in Bulawayo who were beaten by a Form Four student last Monday are reportedly running scared and living in fear that the student is hunting them down one by one after he beat up one of them on Sunday.

Bulawayo police spokesperson, Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo confirmed the incident.

"We I can confirm the incident of student who is alleged to have beaten teachers last week and a teacher on Sunday. We are currently investigating the incident," Inspector Moyo said.

After reading last Sunday's edition of the Sunday News which published the Monday incident where he beat up four teachers, the student (name withheld) is alleged to have rushed to Magwegwe high-density suburb where one of the teachers stays.

When he arrived, he allegedly went down to the teacher's house and thumped him as he was led to believe that the teacher was the one who leaked last Monday's incident to this paper.

Sources who witnessed the incident said the student confronted the teacher and insulted him with unprintable obscenities.

The teacher is said to have responded with his own verbal assault and that did not go down well with the student who was apparently spoiling for a fight.

The student used the insults as an excuse to beat up the hapless teacher who threw a few futile punches which did not stop the pupil from walloping the educator.

The teacher was rescued from the punishing blows of the learner by Magwegwe residents who used their powers as citizens to apprehend the suspect.
