MDC-T Bulawayo province has vowed to defy the national's executive council's decision to suspend party president Morgan Tsvangirai and his deputies.
On Friday, the council suspended Tsvangirai, his deputy Thokozani Khupe, national organising secretary Nelson Chamisa, national spokesperson Douglas Mwonzora the national chairperson Lovemore Moyo and his deputy Morgan Komichi.
The executive was suspended on allegations of fanning violence within the party and being heavy handed in silencing voices that were calling for Tsvangirai's ouster.
Acting Bulawayo chairperson Dorcas Sibanda yesterday at a press conference held at the provincial headquarters, said the decision- supported by 138 out of 176 members of the national council- was null and void because Bulawayo province was not represented at the meeting.
In apparent reference to Bulawayo being the only province were the MDC-T made a clean sweep in last year's harmonised elections that were resoundingly won by Zanu-PF, Sibanda said; "Bulawayo as the backbone of the party is fully behind Morgan Tsvangirai, We are fully behind Thokozani Khupe, until the next congress where we shall, as the executive remove those that we feel are no longer able to work for the party."

She said the decision was arrived at by a bogus and unconstitutional assembled national executive.
"The secretary general Tendai Biti can't call for a national executive council meeting and even Sipepa-Nkomo has no business assuming the national chairperson's position," added Sibanda to applause from scores of supporters who attended the presser.
She accused Zanu-PF and state agents of causing the chaos within the MDC-T to divert attention from the ruling party's failure to deliver any of its electoral promises, which included 2 million jobs within 1 00 days of assuming office and revamping the health and education sector within the period.
"We know very well, this is a Zanu-PF cooked pot. They have let the nation down, they asked for 100 days and they have failed to deliver within those 100 days," said Sibanda.
National executive member, Thabitha Khumalo declared that Tsvangirai was firmly in charge of the MDC-T.
She said; "the problem we have here is that Tsvangirai is the driver and someone is smoking Marijuana at the back of the bus. The police instead of giving the ticket to the mbanje smoker, are giving it to Tsvangirai," said Khumalo.
The national executive on Friday re-instated suspended deputy treasurer general Elton Mangoma and national executive members Last Maengahama, Promise Mkhwananzi and Lawyer Jacob Mafume who were suspended for calling for leadership renewal.
It also returned suspended provincial chairperson who were removed for supporting calls for Tsvangirai to step down.
