BCC moves laboratory from Khami Road Clinic

THE Bulawayo City Council has moved its laboratory from the Khami Road Clinic to a more spacious Thorngrove Hospital in a move that officials believe would reduce the spread of diseases.

The BCC Director of Health Services Zanele Hwalima said because of the need for a spacious laboratory in order to function efficiently and avoid the spread of diseases.

"An appeal was made to The Union to fund renovations of an old building at Thorngrove Hospital to a laboratory," Hwalima said.

She said the renovations had been completed and Khami Road Clinic laboratory was currently transferring its equipment to the new laboratory at Thorngrove Hospital.

The transfer, Hwalima said, would be completed shortly and all laboratory activities would now be carried out at the new laboratory at Thorngrove Hospital.
