Bulawayo - The Whitehorse has galloped away from us and now lying in God's arms in heaven!
Highlanders legendary son and music producer Tymon Mabaleka popularly know as the Whitehorse has been laid to rest at Lady Stanley cemetery in Bulawayo.
This is a cemetery reserved for the gallant sons and daughters of Bulawayo, the real heroes and heroines who thrived during their lives to serve this City of Kings making it a great place to live in and Tymon was one of them.
Thousands bid farewell to one of the nicest human beings anyone would have loved to meet. People travelled all the way from Harare, other cities and the Bulawayo public didn't disappoint, all coming to say their good byes to Mabaleka, a true son of soil.
Speaker after speaker said good things about Tymon and the attendance proved he was indeed the man of the people. Then there was a moving service conducted by a pastor from SDA church, the church where he has been a member ever since he was born.
Zhakata said "Mabaleka was my "father", I have lost a dad, l am what I am today because of him and don't know how to move forward, lm still confused". Tymon Mabaleka produced all Leonard Zhakata' s albums and the platinum selling album Maruva Enyika. Mabaleka also produced albums for Lovemore Majaivana, Kassongo Band, Johns Chibadura, Oliver Mtukudzi, Solomon Skuza, James Chimomber among others, he was a genius.
The sad thing was that Tymon's son, incarcerated at Harare prison for a homicide case was not allowed to attend his father's funeral and I can't comprehend how he is feeling. The other disappointing thing is that the current Highlanders FC first team did not attend the funeral and it would have been fantastic for them to be present in their Bosso track suits.
Anyway former Highlanders administrators, players and Bosso legends were present which included Madinda Ndlovu, Zenzo Moyo, Cosmas Zulu, Earnest Maphepha, Colson Mabeza, Douglas Mloyi, Amin Soma Phiri, Johannes Tshuma, Dzowa and many more were present.
Sleep well Whitehorse and good night!!!
