Bulawayo municipality has resolved to buy and stock up more ammunition to kill stray dogs that have become a nuisance.
According to council agenda seen by Bulawayo24.com, Councillor Gideon Mangena said : "There was a clear Council policy regarding the keeping of dogs. A resident keeping a dog/dogs should fence and secure the premises. Dog by-laws should be enforced accordingly".
Mangena was backed by Ernest Rafomoyo and Norman Hlabani who said shooting of stray dogs should be immediately resumed.
Said Hlabani "more ammunition should be purchased so that the stray dog shooting exercise could commence as soon as possible, in order to protect residents."
Last year, council rolled out an operation code-named "Tie up Order" to enforce dog licensing and control by-laws.
