A drunk Gutu motorist has lost a Nissan Navara double cab to hijackers he had picked up as passengers at Mpandawana Growth Point in the early hours of Monday.

Masvingo Mirror reported that the hijackers later tied him with a rope and dumped him 4km away.

Efforts to get comment from the Police were futile but sources at Gutu Police Station said the incident happened at around 2am on Monday.

Tinashe Brian Kurauone (23) who is suspected to have been drunk and on a joy ride with his Nissan Navara double cab registration number ADF 6602 silver in colour, picked up two unknown men from Mpandawana Town going to Gutu Garage.

While on the way and towards ZAOGA church, one of the hijackers told Kurauone to stop pretending as if he wanted to disembark from the vehicle. Kurauone complied and the hijacker disembarked and he went to Kurauone armed with a knife.

He pointed it at his throat and ordered him to sit on the passenger seat. The other passenger drove the vehicle towards Gutu-Roy road for about 4km and tied Kuraoune's hands and waist with a rope and dumped him at Chipangane turnoff
