Man in trouble for allegedly raping school girl

A 31 year old man from Matobo is in trouble after he allegedly raped a 17 year old girl doing form four at Silozwi Secondary School when he found her fetching for firewood in the bush.
Meluleki Sibanda (31) was not asked to plead to rape when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya. The magistrate remanded him in custody top April 14.
The court heard that on July 22 2015 at 4pm the girl was fetching for firewood in the bush when she met Sibanda who proposed love to her but she turned down the proposal.
Sibanda grabbed her and started fondling her breasts before tripping her to the ground and raping her. and threatened if ever she disclosed the incident to any one.
The girl fell pregnant and the pregnancy was only discovered by her mother when she was about to give birth and needed her mother's help to deliver the baby. The mother assisted her in the delivery of the baby and a report was made to the police leading to his arrest.
