MRP President Mr Mqondisi Moyo has said it's not worth celebrating the life of the late musician Dickson Chinx Chingaira as he is known for bringing misery to the people of Matabeleland. His music is a thorn in the flesh to the people of Matabeleland.
"We as the people of Matabeleland we will never mourn a man who was used as a conduit for the Post 1980 segregation, supremacist approach that defined Zimbabwean nationalism as Shona. His song 'Maruza imi' and 'Mai vadingondo' became the key two songs that the 5th brigade forced its victims to sing in all night Pungwes where the unfortunate candidate for burning or mass graves were chosen," Moyo said.
Mqondisi Moyo also took a swipe on Zanu-PF Politburo member Simon Khaya Moyo who described the late musician as a dedicated cadre whose songs stimulated both Zanla and Zipra fighters into action and helped Mobilise the masses into an incredible resistant population.
"We can not allow a clown like Simon Khaya Moyo uttering such reckless statement. The people of Matabeleland will never mourn Chinx, he is nobody to us. Simon Khaya Moyo is a nonentity who used to carry the late Dr Nkomo's bags whenever was addressing rallies.
"We are not surprised though by SK Moyo's claims about Chinx, because they share the same history as they were both there to entertain the real heroes through music and dance," Mqondisi Moyo said.
Mthwakazi Republic Party is a Matabeleland based party that is advocating for a separate state from Zimbabwe as it was before.
"Its so sad that people like Simon Khaya Moyo are quick to shower praise to Chinx yet when Robert Mugabe insulted Kalangas saying they were criminals and notorious he remained mum because those words were coming from his master and we wonder whose interests are people like SK Moyo representing," he said.
