Zimbabwe's largest passenger ship, the Zambezi Trader, is up for sale after cruising on Lake Kariba for two years.
Dhow Trading (Zimbabwe) managing director Mr Peter Drummond said the 200-tonne vessel, licensed to carry 60 clients overnight and 170 for day cruises, is being sold for a whopping US$2,1 million.
He said the company took the decision to raise capital for agricultural activities, adding that a 100 percent purchase and a sale of shares ranging from 25 percent upwards were available options.
"I am trying to focus more on my core business, which is farming.
"The current liquidity crunch is affecting the smooth flow of operations," Mr Drummond said.
"I need a lot of capital injection at the farm, but the problem is that local banks are reluctant to issue loans.
"That is why I have decided to dispose of the cruise ship."
Operating on Lake Kariba between Zimbabwe and Zambia, the floating hotel is renowned for its sheer size and luxury.
It comprises twin steel catamaran hulls and three top decks and is powered by two 200-horsepower diesel marine Cummins engines.
