The Gates Foundation's Goalkeepers initiative is dedicated to highlighting personal stories, sharing insightful data, and convening leaders who accelerate progress on some of the biggest issues the world faces.

The Goalkeepers event brings together movers and shakers in the world who are contributing to the attainment of SDGs specifically in the areas of education and healthcare.

The first leg of the 2018 Goalkeepers was held last year in New York on the side-lines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Speaking to Bulawayo24 Zvobwo said, "I take this invitation as an honour for the work we are doing in education through the MathsGee Leadership Institute and The Education Support Forum (TEDSF) to be recognised by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation considering the quality of Goalkeepers chosen from Africa".

"The calibre of people chose are chosen to attend the event are high achievers, so this will be a great platform to  network, learn and collaborate with others towards a continent-wide influence", Zvobwo reiterated.

Zvobwo is a Fellow of the Oxford University Desmond Tutu Fellowship program. He was the only Zimbabwean to be chosen for the 2018 cohort of 25 Africans.
