Exiled MDC-T treasurer-general Roy Bennett yesterday took aim at Zimbabwe's security generals, Trust Mugoba and Martin Chedondo saying one day they will be charged with treason.
Bennett made the remarks on social network Facebook where he warned the army officers that their statements would not go unchallenged forever.
"Zanu-PF political commissars Mugoba and Chedondo will be court martial-led under the Defence Act when a democratic government comes to power. They have violated their oaths to uphold the constitution and will be charged with treason," he said.
Bennet said in a new dispensation, partisan security officers would be replaced.
"They will be replaced by officers who have remained apolitical and true to their obligations as professional Zimbabwean soldiers and servants of the people," said Bennett.
The comments come a few days after Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai warned the security forces against their continued meddling in politics.
MDC-T has been calling on immediate security sector realignment, saying this would guarantee the secrecy of the vote and ensure the security of the voter in the next election.
Mugoba was quoted by State media last week claiming that the military supports Zanu PF.
Speaking at the funeral of fellow soldier, Lieutenant-Colonel Thabani Khumalo, at Imbizo Barracks in Bulawayo, Mugoba said they would not allow anyone other than Zanu-PF to rule Zimbabwe.
Chedondo is also on record singing the same tune, saying liberation war values, which resonate with the ideologies of Zanu PF, would be inculcated in new recruits.
