A top immigration official, assistant regional immigration officer Evans Siziba beat up his subordinate principal immigration officer Cleopas Madziva in full view of travellers at the Harare International Airport last Tuesday while on duty for allegedly taking time to clear passengers who were due to board the British Airways and South African Airways.
Siziba beat up Madziva in the departure lounge just after 2pm as he was leaving his work station.
Witnesses say Siziba let loose a series of punches and claps on Madziva.
Siziba ignored pleas from scores onlookers to forgive his subordinate and threatened to fire him.
Madziva had to receive medical treatment at Pararenyatwa Hospital for partial hearing loss.
Sources claim that it is not the first time that Siziba has beat up no-performing staff.
"He beat up one of his staff when he was still at Plumtree and maybe that explains why he is used for all the high profile deportations," said one commentator.
