UZ student dies of cancer in SA

A University of Zimbabwe student Steve John Mutapiri who was recently admitted at a South African hospital for operation following the donation on 100 000 Rand by a funeral service firm - Zororo/ Phumulani has succumbed to the illness.
This was confirmed by the Zororo/Phumulani company in a statement today.
"It is with a heavy heart that Zororo-Phumulani announces the passing on of Steve John Mutapiri, a University of Zimbabwe student," reads the statement.
"Steve John Mutapiri passed on this morning at his brother's home in Louis Tritchard South Africa. Steve has been fighting cancer for the past four years."
Zororo-Phumulani came on board in January 2021 when the Mutapiri family took it to social media appealing for help.
"The company assisted with more than R100 000.00, paying medical fees for Steve," the company said.
"Zororo-Phumulani pledges to assist the Mutapiri family to repatriate the body of Steve back to Zimbabwe untill his final journey to his final resting place in Chitungwiza."
Mutapiri had recently been admitted for operation at the Mediclinic in the Limpopo after the company chipped in.
