Man rapes woman suffering from mental illness

A 32-YEAR-OLD Mazowe man in trouble with the law after he allegedly raped a woman with mental health issues at his homestead.
The matter came to light this afternoon at Bindura magistrate court where Osteen Nyarira of Amatola farm, Mazowe was not asked to plead to the charge before magistrate Samantha Dhlamini.
The state led by Victoria Choga alleged on May 11 the complainant was invited by Nyarira's wife at his house and she complied.
The complainant was offered a place to sleep in the same room with the couple.
During the night Nyarira jumped on top of the complainant and raped her.
His wife heard some noise and ordered the complainant to go back to her home.
She went and narrated what had happened to village elders leading to Nyarira's arrest.
