Ex-Gweru deputy mayor Ncube dies

FORMER Gweru deputy mayor and senior MDC Alliance member, Obert Tachi Ncube, has died.
Ncube passed on yesterday morning at Midlands Private Hospital after battling a kidney ailment for a long time.
He was once the MDC Midlands provincial director for elections.
Former Gweru executive mayor, Sesel Zvidzai described the late Ncube as a dedicated person who fought hard to uplift the Midlands capital.
"He was deputy mayor from 2003 to 2008. He worked hard for Gweru and was a dependable person," Zvidzai said.
Meanwhile, messages of condolences continued to pour in from Gweru residents who not only expressed shock at Ncube's death, but also said he will be missed for being a "unifier and elderly politician who accommodated everyone."
Mourners are gathered in Mkoba 16, Gweru and burial arrangements were yet to be announced at the time of going to print last night.
