Robbery spree strikes Harare, Bulawayo...Police launch investigations

In a recent tweet from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, authorities have announced their investigation into two separate robbery incidents that occurred on October 21, 2023, leaving victims in Bulawayo and Harare shaken.

The first incident took place along Grayville Road near Arlington Court, Ascot, in Bulawayo. Three unidentified suspects, who were traveling in a white Toyota Runx, carried out a daring robbery. According to the police report, the victim was a shop manager driving a Toyota Belta vehicle, and the criminals managed to intercept and rob the individual of a significant sum of money.

The suspects made off with a staggering US$29,000 in cash, which was stored in the victim's vehicle's boot. The daring heist has left the Bulawayo community on edge as police officers work tirelessly to apprehend the culprits responsible for this audacious crime. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to report to the nearest police station to assist in the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, in the capital city of Harare, another robbery case unfolded on the same day, prompting an investigation by the local police department. Two suspects, armed with a stone and a small axe, targeted a residence along Nzou Crescent, Winsor, Ruwa.

In this incident, the thieves managed to escape with a significant amount of currency, including US$10,610, 1,700 Zambian Kwacha, ZAR 2,500.00, 50 Pounds, and 200,000 Tanzanian Shillings. The suspects also made away with other valuables, including a laptop, four cellphones, five pairs of tennis shoes, and two school bags.

The victims of this Harare robbery have been left traumatized, and the community is urged to remain vigilant and take necessary security precautions during these uncertain times. As the police investigation unfolds, authorities are requesting anyone with pertinent information to come forward and report to the nearest police station, as their assistance is crucial in solving this case.
