President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed former Zanu-PF legislator Dexter Nduna to spearhead resource mobilisation efforts for the ruling party, focusing on sectors such as mining, agriculture, and various business enterprises. This decision, announced by Zanu-PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa to NewsDay, positions Nduna as chairperson of the resource mobilisation and revenue generation committee following his appointment during a recent central committee meeting.

Expressing his satisfaction with the appointment, Nduna highlighted President Mnangagwa's emphasis on achieving swift results. He outlined plans for his team to embark on province-wide tours aimed at devising effective strategies to bolster financial support for the party. Nduna specifically mentioned targeting key sectors like mining and agriculture, underscoring the strategic focus on these industries to enhance party funding.

Nduna's previous contributions to Zanu-PF include a notable donation of 60 heifers and five bulls to President Mnangagwa last year, a gesture that underscored his support and admiration for Mnangagwa's leadership. Additionally, Nduna praised Mnangagwa for his initiatives in Chegutu, particularly citing improvements in living conditions for mine workers through the implementation of affordable housing schemes.

Overall, Nduna's appointment signifies a strategic move by Zanu-PF to leverage his experience and network in resource mobilisation, aiming to strengthen the party's financial base through targeted efforts in key economic sectors.
