Successful businessman urinates in a supermarket freezer

A successful Harare businessman last Thursday left shoppers frowning in disgust when he unzipped his trousers and released a gusty stream of urine into the island freezer of a supermarket in full view of the public.
Walter Magumise (41) of House No. 23 Shabin Street in St Mary's, Chitungwiza urinated in the refrigerator at Food World Julius Nyerere Way at around 7pm, effectively disrupting last minute shopping in the store. Magumise, who had a mob of support, was arrested and was set free after paying an admission of guilty fine of US$20!
Records at the Harare Central Police Station show that he was fined and released on the same day although critics felt there ought to be stiffer penalties for this disorderly conduct! The General Manager of Food World, Denford Mutashu confirmed the incident. "Walter was taken to Harare Central Police and fined US$20 for disorderly conduct. He claimed to have been drunk but he looked sober. I suspect it was for ritual purposes.
"Imagine he was even holding his car keys," said Mutashu. He explained that Walter even went so far as to clap the security supervisor Brighton Mapanzura after he confronted him for urinating in the refrigerator. "When confronted, he beat up our security guards and some customers who tried to intervene. He even resisted arrest by plain clothes policemen.
"We were so desperate that we ended up seeking the services of a uniformed soldier who was shopping who then tackled the violent man on our behalf," said Mutashu. Apparently the naughty man's escapades had the blessing of several of his colleagues.
"What surprised us was that the unreasonable man was accompanied by eight women and one man who showed no remorse for Walter's conduct. "The women followed the branch manager to the police station.
"As he was being escorted to the police station, he kept on shouting that he was above the law and no one could do anything about it. "He looked like a businessman and I am very puzzled by his conduct," went on Mutashu shaking his head in bewilderment.
"The man gave his address as 2385 St Mary's and after reporting to the police I was given the reference IR 032484," confirmed the security supervisor, Brighton. Magumise could not be contacted for comment.
