India-Zimbabwe celebrate cultural ties with 'Lok Kala Sandhya'

HARARE - The Embassy of India in Zimbabwe hosted 'Lok Kala Sandhya' (Folk Dance Evening), a vibrant celebration of cultural ties between India and Zimbabwe, with the event featuring a captivating performance by the Sanskruti Dance Academy.
In his opening remarks, His Excellency Bramha Kumar, Ambassador of India to Zimbabwe, highlighted the strong friendly and steadfast bilateral relations between India and Zimbabwe, noting that the cultural cooperation between the two countries has been instrumental in cementing people-to-people contacts.
The Ambassador recalled the visit of Zimbabwe's Vice President, Dr. CGDN Chiwenga, to Goa, India, in December 2024, which strengthened the cultural and historical ties between the two nations.
"Let me also appreciate the contribution of the Indian diaspora in Zimbabwe, particularly from Gujarat, in promoting Indian culture and values," Bramha Kumar said.
"We express our gratitude to the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for supporting the Sanskruti Dance Academy's performance in Harare, Bulawayo and Mutare. Also, let me thank Mr. Vijay Behl, CEO of Varun Beverages, for generously supporting the event," he added.
The event was officially launched by Honourable Emily Jesaya, Deputy Minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture, who welcomed the performers and the audience.
The 'Lok Kala Sandhya' event showcased the rich cultural heritage of India and Zimbabwe, highlighting the strong bonds between the two nations. The performance by the Sanskruti Dance Academy was a testament to the enduring friendship and cultural exchange between India and Zimbabwe.
