ZVIMBA – The ZANU PF-affiliated group Varakashi4ED has claimed that development momentum continues to build across Zvimba West, with several infrastructure projects taking shape under government programmes led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and implemented locally through the area’s Member of Parliament, Mercy Dinha.
Posting on their X account, the group said constituency officials confirmed the installation of four new boreholes, all fitted with bush pumps, across different wards.
According to Constituency Coordinator Cde Bhandawa, the boreholes were established at:
• Ward 8 – Chirenda Village• Ward 2 – Murombedzi Rank• Ward 5 – Jenami Village• Ward 27 – Hora Village
Residents said the new water points are expected to significantly improve access to clean and reliable water for households, schools and farmers. Many community members expressed appreciation for Dinha’s hands-on approach, which they credited for driving development projects forward.
Alongside the water initiatives, work is progressing on two major road networks — the Mundondodzi Road and the Nyamasanga Road — where maintenance and upgrades are currently underway. Villagers believe these improvements will enhance mobility, stimulate local business activity and improve access to essential services.
Community members also noted Dinha’s continued engagement within the constituency, from attending funerals and school prize-giving ceremonies to addressing local grievances. One case frequently mentioned is her assistance to a patient suffering from oral cancer (yepamuromo), where she has been actively helping to ensure the individual receives appropriate medical attention.
“With every borehole drilled, every road upgraded, and every life touched, Zvimba West is witnessing a new chapter — one where development is not spoken about from a distance, but felt daily in homes, villages and schools,” Varakashi4ED said.
“Under the steady leadership of Cde Mercy Dinha, many residents say the constituency is finally experiencing progress that is visible, measurable and rooted in genuine community care. For Zvimba West, the message is clear: development is no longer a promise — it is happening.”
