Mwaruwari graduates with professional coaching diploma

Former Zimbabwe Warriors striker Benjani Mwaruwari has taken a major step in his post-playing career after successfully graduating with a Diploma in Professional Football Coaching.

The ex-national team star, who enjoyed a distinguished career in Europe and remains one of Zimbabwe's most recognisable football exports, described the achievement as a humbling milestone and the start of a new chapter in his football journey.

Speaking after his graduation, Mwaruwari expressed gratitude to his family, friends, mentors and colleagues for their unwavering support throughout what he described as a demanding course.

"This achievement is not mine alone," Mwaruwari said. "I thank my family for their endless sacrifices, patience and belief in me. To everyone who offered support, encouragement and prayers, your belief gave me the strength to keep going."

He emphasised that the qualification represents a foundation rather than a final destination, noting that he is committed to continuous learning and further coaching upgrades.

"My goal is to give back to football, a sport that has shaped my life and career," he said.

Mwaruwari now joins a growing list of former players transitioning into coaching, a move widely viewed as vital for strengthening football development both locally and beyond.

"The journey has only just begun," he said, reaffirming his commitment to growth and excellence in football coaching.
