Zimbabwe has reaffirmed its cooperation with the World Bank Group as Government continues to pursue economic reforms, re‑engagement and investment‑driven development.

Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister Mthuli Ncube met outgoing World Bank Group Division Director for Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania, Nathan Belete, who was accompanied by incoming Division Director Firas Raad and a delegation from the Bank.

The meeting marked a transition in leadership while underscoring the continuation of long‑standing cooperation between Zimbabwe and the Bretton Woods institution. Officials described the engagement as reaffirming a "strong and evolving partnership", particularly as Zimbabwe works to consolidate macroeconomic stability and rebuild international confidence.

Discussions focused on Zimbabwe's re‑engagement agenda, implementation of key economic reforms, and follow‑up actions from the 2026 World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings. The talks also reviewed progress on policy measures aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline, improving the investment climate and supporting sustainable growth.

The World Bank continues to support Zimbabwe in areas such as public financial management, social protection, infrastructure development and climate resilience. Both parties signalled continued collaboration as Zimbabwe advances its reform agenda.
