A 53 year old Harare executive has died after he slit his throat in his car near Borrowdale primary school in Harare.
Francis Ngoneni Masuku who was the Group Human Resources Director of Pioneer Corporation Africa committed slit open his throat with an okapi knife. It is said he had a furious stand up row with his wife before he decided to end his life.
A witness who identified herself as Cynthia Dube said that the man was driving in front of her when he suddenly stopped his vehicle, drew a knife and plunged it in his throat.
"I was driving behind the car from St John's College up until the car abruptly stopped. At first we thought it was a traffic jam and when we pulled over we ran to the car and saw blood gushing out from his neck," said Dube.
Masuku's widow who arrived at the scene later was visibly shaken and could not shed light as to what could have happened while the deceased's workmates said they were still in shock and had no hint of what could have led to the tragedy.
