Zimbabwe National Road Administration has hiked vehicle registration and licencing fees.
ZINARA chief executive officer, Mr Frank Chitukutuku, says the rhiking of vehicle registration and licensing fees wass in line with government's new statutory instrument number 141 of 2013 which was gazetted on the 27th of last month and effected on Tuesday this week.
Zinara reviewed licensing fees for haulage truck trailers from $50 to $130 while the horse truck is now paying between US$130 to US$140 up from US$80.
Ordinary motorists are now paying between $30 and $40 up from $20 depending on the weight of the vehicle.
License fees for buses are now pegged at $120 up from $80.
However, transport operators have said ZINARA should have engaged them before coming up with what they described as exorbitant fee adjustments.
