Gore declared liberation war hero

Rowland Muketiwa Gore, who died in Harare on Wednesday, has been declared a liberation war hero.
Gore (55) joined the liberation struggle in Mozambique in 1976, and trained at Pungwe Three Training Camp.
He was deployed to Manica Province and used the psuedonym Black Actor Chimurenga.
At independence, Gore joined the Zimbabwe Republic Police as a Constable, where he rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Inspector before retiring the same year.
At the time of his death Gore was Chairman of Takawira Zone Two, under the War Veterans Association.
He is survived by his wife Florence and four children.
Mourners are gathered at House number 2548 Jerusalem in Highfields, Harare.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
