Police have launched a manhunt for three women and a man on allegations of sexually abusing and robbing a 22-year-old man in Chivi last Sunday night.
The man, who is based in South Africa, lost his valuables including R4 000, US$150, a Nokia Asha 302 cellphone and national identity card at gunpoint.
Chief police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the incident.
"The complainant, a male adult aged 22 years who is employed in South Africa, boarded an unregistered Nissan X-Trail vehicle from Beitbridge to Harare at 7pm. The vehicle had three occupants, one male and two females ,who pretended to be strangers to each other," she said.
She said when they reached Chivi turn-off, they drove along Tokwe-Mhandamabwe Road for about four kilometres before robbing the victim.
Snr Asst Comm Charamba said the accused trio tied the victim's hands with a rope and drove along the same road for a farther three kilometres.
"A Toyota Gaia which was following the Nissan X-Trail emerged from behind and signalled the first vehicle to drive into a narrow dust road. Two females disembarked from the Toyota Gaia holding two unidentified pistols.
"The male accused person from the X-Trail vehicle then injected the complainant with an unknown substance and ordered him to be intimate with the three female accused persons," she said.
Snr Asst Comm Charamba said this was the third incident to be recorded along the Masvingo-Beitbridge highway inside two weeks.
"Members of the public are discouraged from boarding private vehicles whilst intending to travel from one point to another, especially unregistered Toyota Gaia, Toyota Ipsum, Toyota Noah, Toyota Duet, Toyota Vitz, etc, which are being used as public transport by unscrupulous people," she said.
"Police would like to warn these merciless female criminals that their days are numbered. We have activated all our police intelligence teams to account for them."
In August 2013, a South African man was sexually abused and robbed by three women in Mutare.
The man lost a pair of shoes, his passport, a Samsung Galaxy 4 cellphone, satchel with clothes and US$900 cash.
The man, from Mafikeng in South Africa, boarded a bus at Beitbridge Border Post for Mutare.
He befriended an unidentified woman in the bus and the two got off at Sakubva Musika and were picked up by a white Toyota Ipsum with unknown registration numbers.
