Zanu-PF legislator for Mhondoro-Ngezi Mike Gava has been taken to the Civil Court by his wife Tendai Wenyika on allegations of neglecting their child.
Wenyika is claiming US$930 for her upkeep and that of the one-year old baby.
In her application, Tendai Wenyika claims the lawmarker was not contributing anything towards the upkeep of his son Mike Saviour Gava.
"He never paid a single cent for his son yet he is gainfully employed," reads part of Wenyika's application.
Wenyika is demanding US$50 for rates, electricity and water US$50, telephone US$10, groceries US$200, maid US$100, creche fees US$300, clothes US$50, holidays US$20, incidents US$50 and an additional US$100 for her upkeep.
"He is a Member of Parliament and earns US$1 800 per month," she said.
Last year, Wenyika assaulted a woman whom she suspected of being in an adulterous relationship with her husband.
