Minister of State for Masvingo, Shuvai Mahofa who cannot walk up the stairs to her second floor offices at Burombo building because of advanced age and ill health has occupied the Provincial Medical Director's office on the ground floor of the same building.

The PMD has since moved to another office in the same building.

Mahofa (74) took over from Kudakwashe Bhasikiti who is accused of having joined hands with disposed Vice President Joice Mujuru to oust President Mugabe.

According to Masvingo Mirror, Mahofa could neither confirm nor deny the development when contacted for a comment.

"When you wrote your story you said that I am old and now what do you want from me?" complained Mahofa.

Mahofa is supported by aides as she walks out of the official car and is also assisted as she negotiates the stairs to the office.

The publication said Dr Robert Mudyiradima, the PMED was evasive on the matter.

Staff at the offices said the move has caused inconveniences as the two key provincial offices of the Minister and the PMD were now far away from their support staff.

There is now a lot of movement of staff between the floors to get papers to the Minister who now works in a different floor from her support staff.

It is costing a lot of time and money and this is affecting co-ordination of the offices," said a staffer who declined to be named for fear of victimization.

Mahofa, who is a close ally of First Lady Grace Mugabe, was elevated to the post after Bhasikiti was booted out.
