Mnangagwa evades Zanu-PF factional war

Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday snubbed Zanu-PF Harare provincial executive members who had gone to lobby for support to have Terrence Mukupe stopped from standing as ruling party candidate in the June 10 by elections.

Led by Godwills Masimirembwa and other members of the executive who included the provincial political commissar, the team, according to sources, approached Mnangagwa seeking his intervention but the VP told them he was busy.

Masimirembwa denied on Wednesday ever being snubbed by Mnangagwa before questioning who the source of the story was.

The matter is expected to be heard in the next politburo meeting expected to take place soon.
