A former Gonawapotera High School lady teacher at Chaka in Chirumanzi who was transferred to the remote parts of Gokwe after the community complained against her has failed to link seven people to a case in which she is accusing them of having called her a witch.

Masvingo Mirror reported that ten accused people were summoned to court on Friday last week but Ipai Takavarasha, a teacher who claims to have been labelled a witch failed to link seven of them to the case. She told Magistrate ...sitting on circuit in Mvuma that she did nor why the other seven were in court and went on to implicate Alphonse Mutero, his daughter Modesta who is doing law with the University of zimbabwe and ...as  those people who had labelled her a witch.

The other accused were David Mahanya, Cosmas Gwere, Pelagia Chingovo , Vimbai Munazvo, Fortunate Dube, Shamiso Mahanya, Sarudzai Mudzingwa and Viola Dhinha.

The accused are being represented by  Chitere and Chidawanyika Associates The court adjourned to June 29, 2015 to allow Takavarasha to bring her witness. The witness was identified in court as ........a fellow teacher who was also removed from Gonawopotera by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Schools after over 500 parents against the two teachers.
Takavarasha was transferred by the Ministry early this year after hundreds of parents including Chief Chaka held demonstrations against her for allegedly dividing people in the community.

Takavarasha gave details on how the three accused allegedly called her a witch.

While in court the complainant also claimed that she had a good relationship with the Mutero family and she does not know why they had to call her a witch. Although the community accused Takavarasha of failing to attend the funeral of a fellow teacher who stayed a house away from hers, she claimed in court that she had a very good relationship with the late teacher and Lilios Mutero and her husband Alphonse and therefore did not understand why the family called her a witch.

After giving her account, she was asked if she had a witness and the witness will be brought to court on June 29 before the accused give their defence outline
