Catholic woman collapse and dies in bathroom

A Roman Catholic woman from Mucheke in Masvingo collapsed and died in her bathroom on Sunday as she was preparing to go and attend a mass conducted by the Apostolic Nuncio His Excellence Archbishop Marek Zalewski.

Masvingo Mirror reported that hundreds of Catholics packed at Don Bosco Church on Tuesday this week to pay their last respects to Alice Veronica Munyoro who died at the age of 51.

Nuncio Zalewski was in Masvingo at the weekend where he ordained two Roman Catholic priests at Gokomere Mission and the conducted a church service on Sunday morning at the new St Mary's Cathedral in Masvingo.

The Nuncio is the Pope's representative in Zimbabwe. It is understood that Munyoro suffered from high blood pressure.

The husband Samson Munyoro described his wife as a caring mother and pillar of strength.

Fr Richard Pundo described Munyoro as a humble person who attended every morning mass service.

Munyoro was laid to rest at Magwandi Cemetery this week Tuesday.
