Mugabe appoints 2 perm secs

President Mugabe has appointed permanent secretaries for the Ministry of Sport and Recreation and the newly-established Rural Development, Preservation and Promotion of Culture and Heritage.
The appointments of Dr Thokozile Chitepo (Rural Development, Preservation and Promotion of Culture and Heritage) and Dr Godfrey Chipare (Sport and Recreation), were announced by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda in a statement yesterday.
The appointments, done in terms of Section 205 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (Number 20) Act 2013, are with immediate effect.
Dr Chitepo, who was permanent secretary in the revamped Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture, goes to the new ministry that was established in October.
The newly-created Ministry of Rural Development, Preservation and Promotion of Culture and Heritage is headed by Abednico Sibanda.
Dr Chitepo holds a Bachelor of Education degree, a Bachelor of Psychology, a Master of Arts in Cognitive/Education Degree and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Cognitive /Educational Psychology Degree.
Dr Chipare holds a Master of Science in Economics and a Doctorate in International Economics.
Dr Chipare worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before being promoted.
He was presently serving as the Principal Director at the Parliament of Zimbabwe.
The Ministry of Sport and Recreation is headed by Makhosini Hlongwane.
