Zanu PF suspends Mutsvangwa, expels 16

The Zanu PF politburo has suspended politburo member, who is also the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association Chairman Christopher Mutsvangwa, for three years.
Mutsvangwa was suspended together with Etina Nhari, who was the secretary for administration in the women's league and Monica Mutsvangwa who was member of the national executive of the women's league.
Chris Mutsvangwa remains a member of the party and National Assembly member for Norton but will not hold any party position.
Four members - Tendai Makunde, Felix Mhona, Masvaire and Katsande - were severely reprimanded after the National Disciplinary Committee's report was extensively discussed at the politburo meeting this Thursday.
Sixteen others were expelled from the party.
Zanu PF spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo announced the suspensions on the sidelines of the third politburo meeting for 2016.
The National Disciplinary Committee report was presented by Patrick Chinamasa and after extensive discussions a decision was reached.
Rosinita Chinyaure and Bhasirayi have been expelled from the party.
Seven provincial youths chairman have also been expelled for gross indiscipline and misconduct.
These are: Godfrey Tsenengamu (Mashonaland Central), Godfrey Gomwe (Harare), Vengai Musengi (Mashonaland West), Kumbulani Mpofu (Bulawayo), Edmore Samambwa (Midlands), Tamuka Nyoni (Matabeleland North), Washington Nkomo (Matabeleland South).
Another seven youth leaders representing various associations aligned to Zanu PF have also been expelled.
These are: Tonderai Chidawu (ZICOSU), Norest Makururu (Youth in Mining), Collin Machingura (Youth in Farming) Memory Masengu (Youth Against Sanctions), Absolom Madusiri (Youth Service Graduates), Gabriel Togarepi (ZILIWACO Trust) and Innocent Mhlanga (Children of War Veterans).
"The case of the three provincial chairmen from Mashonaland East, Midlands and Masvingo is still to be concluded by the National Disciplinary Committee which is chaired by Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko," said Khaya Moyo.
The Zanu PF spokesperson said the Minister of Mines and Mining Development Walter Chidhakwa presented a report on the consolidation of diamond companies and the report was well received.
The National Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere presented his commissariat report and the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Prisca Mupfumira gave a detailed report on the drought relief activities ongoing across the country.
