Mthwakazi Liberation Front (MLF) is pondering over the reasons why the Zanu PF government in the early 1980s unleashed the Gukurahuni in Matabeleland and the merits and demerits of the signing of the Unity accord in 1987.

MLF official General Proud Mazilankatha Ncube said Ndebeles deserve respect as the colonisation of Matabeleland is drastically alarming each and every minute.

"All these are made to fulfill the Zanu PF Grand Plan, which argues that as long he (Robert Mugabe)  is still alive he would be the president of Zanu PF," Ncube said. "The Unity Accord which was used to destroy the Ndebele state was signed and they were supposed to clarify the cruelty of the massacres on the document. If Unity Accord was meant to unite people of Mthwakazi and Shonas, then what was the aim of Gukurahundi. What was the importance of Grand plan."

He said there will never be any act of good relations between these two countries Mthwakazi and Zimbabwe which are led by one man since 18 April 1980.

"Today we are talking of 36 years under the rule of killers, 36 years of poverty, 36 years of unemployment," he said.  "The most painful thing which is a burning issue in hearts of Mthwakazi people, is that 32 years no clear point and apology over Gukurahundi genocide."

He said there is no sign that they will ever apologise.

He said the brave Zipra army fought numerous battles during the war but doubted if ever Zanla forces did anything substantial to bring the country's independence.
