The MDC T has denied allegations that it has fleeced thousands of Zimbabweans their money in a scam related to the Ongoing Documentation process.

We wish to state that our publication has not, does not and will not "make allegations against any organization or person."

Our core-business is news and not soiling any type of person's reputation. We are of the understanding that the MDC T understands this editorial policy.

Accordingly, we publish unedited what we just received from the MDC-T hereunder :

MDC T PRESS STATEMENT

The MDC-T SA Province has become aware of certain allegations made against it in a confidential article sent your newspaper. We would like to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to respond to these unfounded allegations.

Generally, the allegations claim that the Party leadership is corrupt and that it tasked members of its Executive to fleece Zimbabweans in relation to the ongoing Zimbabwean Documentation Project.

Firstly, we find it incredulous that a Party of the People could take advantage of the very same people who make up the membership of the Party.

Secondly, no police case has been opened against either the Party or any of the members in its Executive Committee and none of them are in hiding.

We would like to point out that the Zimbabwean Documentation Project is free of charge to all Zimbabweans and we, therefore, find little credence in the allegation that the Party operated a separate "paid-for" service that runs parallel to the Home Affairs operation.

All Zimbabweans submitted their applications direct to the Home Affairs processing office and they would naturally expect to submit their fingerprints and any other required documentation direct to the same office and not some side operation as alleged. The Party takes this opportunity to recommit itself to achieving the achieving the goal of real change in Zimbabwe.

The people's struggle
for real change: Let's finish it!!
Kind Regards
