SOUTH Africa-based Zanu-PF activist, James Pande has castigated corrupt party youths, who always invoke First Lady Grace Mugabe's name to hide their criminal activities.

In remarks believed to be targeted at businessman, Wicknell Chivayo, Pande said it was wrong for party members to abuse their proximity to the First Family to evade arrest.

Pande shot to fame ahead of the 2013 elections when he launched his Hovhorosi Style clothing label bearing President Robert Mugabe's signature.

"Young people should have respect for the most senior citizens no matter which political party they are affiliated to . . . not what we are seeing these days where some put pictures to intimidate police at roadblocks and claim to be part of the First Family… that should stop," he said.

Pande urged young leaders to be exemplary "and always follow and respect protocol".

His comments come as Chivayo is in the eye of a storm after he posted, on social media, pictures of him having dinner with Grace in Dubai.

Chivayo recently courted controversy when he threw tantrums at national soccer team coach Kalisto Pasuwa, accusing him of leaking reports that he had gone for two months without a salary.

He also insulted journalists from the State-controlled media for writing the story before launching an unrestrained attack on Higher Education minister Jonathan Moyo for suggesting that Zifa must not rely on individual sponsorship.
