Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) leader, Prophet Walter Magaya, yesterday said his recent arrest on rape allegations inspired him to work harder and speed up completion of several projects he is spearheading in the country and abroad.
Addressing thousands of congregates in Prospect, Waterfalls to celebrate the construction of a multi-million dollar hotel, stadium and guest house yesterday, Prophet Magaya said he drew a lot of lessons from his brush with the law.
"If there is an incident that I have ever got inspiration to transform people's lives, it is that Friday incident, pandakareverwa nhema paya. It gave me a lot of determination and zeal to speed up completion of projects and change people's lives for the better. I am not a politician, but a man of God and every Minister of God is send with a different mission, I am now determined to make you landlords," said Prophet Magaya.
"I have to move fast to redeem my time. What has happened has given me inner anger to move fast and assist those who love me."
Prophet Magaya was arraigned before a Harare magistrates court a fortnight ago facing allegations of raping one of his followers, a university student and granted $2 000 bail with stringent conditions.
Prophet Magaya urged his followers to continue upgrading to adopt to the changing technology to remain relevant and useful at their workplaces and in the economy.
"In an economy where employment is difficult you need to be versatile and upgrade yourself, you will end up redundant in an economy where technology is constantly changing," he said.
He dismissed claims from some quarter that he was meant to amass wealth saying his call was to work for the people and fight poverty among them.
Commenting on the project, Prophet Magaya said the structure was 90 percent complete, but hoped to be through in a few days.
He bemoaned bureaucracy and red tape at Beitbridge Border Post saying at least five trucks carrying some of the building material were stuck at the entry point.
"We have paid for everything, duty and permit, but once they hear that it belongs to PHD they delay them.
"I have those trucks stuck at the border. We duly paid for everything, we did not even know that there were those duty free items that we could import," said Prophet Magaya.
Earlier on Tourism and Hospitality Industry Deputy Minister Annastancia Ndlovu, had commended PHD for complementing Government efforts in promoting religious tourism through convening of several crusades that she said had seen several hotels being fully occupied.
She said the hotel PHD had constructed would qualify for duty free in respect of capital equipment once it was registered with the Ministry and Zimbabwe Council of Tourism.
It was a colourful ceremony where congregates were treated to entertainment from music superstar Oliver Mutukudzi, gospel musician, Blessing Shumba and dancehall artiste Killer T.
