Harare suspends water disconnections

Harare City Council has stopped water disconnections amid rising fears of disease outbreaks due to shortage of to the precious commodity.

According to the latest HCC, council is owed $500 million plus in rates and water bills by residents, companies, government departments and industries.

Corporate communications hope Chizuzu said residents must continue paying their bills and use water sparingly.

On the back of water crisis and looming rains there is have been warnings by the health ministry and HCC of diarrhoea cases outbreak.
