A Chinotimba woman allegedly manhandled her husband and her domestic worker before pouring her own urine on them after discovering that her husband had impregnated her. The incident, which is now the talk of residents of the small resort town of Victoria Falls, happened over the weekend in an area called MaRailway in Chinotimba Township.
According to neighbours, the incident occurred around 4pm when Mr Zenzo Nkomo returned from work only to discover the domestic worker being caned by his wife in their yard.
"Mr Nkomo came back home from work and found his wife beating and shouting at the domestic worker. As soon as he arrived, he was caught in the cross fire as the wife turned on him with a belt she was using to beat the domestic worker. Before Mr Nkomo could say anything, his wife started shouting, 'how could you, how could you impregnate her?' " said the source.
The source added that after taking turns to beat the two lovebirds, Mrs Nkomo went inside the house as if she was done with them. In the meantime Mr Nkomo was trying to comfort the domestic worker and mapping a way forward when suddenly, his wife came out carrying a bucket.
"From nowhere, she poured what looked like some liquid on both her husband and the domestic worker. We then learnt that it was her urine when her husband, while shouting, asked her why she was pouring her urine on them and they started fighting until some neighbours intervened and stopped the fight. As Mr and Mrs Nkomo were being taken inside their house for some mediation, the maid took to her heels," said the source.
The sources said the couple had been staying with the domestic worker for over eight months adding that they were shocked at the revelation. The source added that they later learnt that the domestic worker was actually three months pregnant with Mr Nkomo's baby.
"The domestic worker is said to have divulged her pregnancy to her friend who in turn told her boss who is said to be on talking terms with Mrs Nkomo. Mrs Nkomo then interrogated her and she confessed to having a relationship with her husband especially when she is out of the country on business trips."
The source said that the matter did not really shock them since the two would always be seen together every time Mrs Nkomo was on business trips.
"It was a matter of time before they were caught as the whole neighbourhood suspected the affair. The domestic worker went to her rural home in Chidobe," said the source. Contacted for comment, Mr Nkomo, who is self employed, begged this reporter not to write the story.
"Please my brother, these things happen so do not write the story because as we speak I am trying to mend my marriage and the story will damage us," he said. Mrs Nkomo declined comment.
